Daniel's writing has been described as "Dr. Seuss for adults," "avant-garde standup," and "between Brautigan's and Basho's." He is the author of Unlucky Lucky Days (a Believer Book Award Reader Survey Selection, an ABA Indie Next Notable Book, and a CCLaP Best Experimental Book) and of The Hermaphrodite: An Hallucinated Memoir, an art novel with forty original woodcuts by renowned Argentine artist Alfredo Benavidez Bedoya. His writing appears in many journals and anthologies, including Conjunctions, Boulevard, Mississippi Review, and Fiction. Also a musician, Grandbois plays in three of the pioneering bands of "The Denver Sound": Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Tarantella, and Munly.
